Peter Carmichael, MD
Peter Carmichael, MD is a vascular surgeon who completed his integrated vascular surgery residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He is trained in the full spectrum of open and endovascular vascular surgery and has extensive experience managing complex arterial and venous diseases. Dr. Carmichael is known for his detailoriented approach to case planning, technical efficiency, and ability to perform effectively in high-acuity, high-pressure clinical environments.
Dr. Carmichael’s clinical interests include carotid artery disease (CEA and TCAR), peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage, dialysis access creation, thoracic outlet syndrome, and open and endovascular aortic reconstruction. He also has experience in the treatment of superficial and deep venous disease, spine exposure procedures (ALIF and OLIF), and non-invasive vascular ultrasonography. In addition to his clinical work, he has contributed to peer-reviewed research and enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students and junior residents. Dr. Carmichael earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree from Whitman College, where he graduated cum laude.
