Meet Dr. Xu
Dr. Jimmy Xu is a fellowship-trained minimally invasive, bariatric, and robotic surgeon with a special interest in weight loss and upper gastrointestinal surgery.
Originally from Fayetteville, Arkansas, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas and his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Louis University, followed by advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive, bariatric, and robotic surgery in the Oakland, California Bay Area. This additional training allows him to offer patients more minimally invasive options, with the goal of faster, less painful recovery.
After fellowship, Dr. Xu moved to Henderson, Nevada, where he helped grow the robotic surgery program at St. Rose Dominican Hospital – Siena Campus and now served as the Medical Director of Weight Loss Surgery there.
Dr. Xu is board certified in obesity medicine and has specialized training in weight loss surgery. He has extensive experience in upper gastrointestinal surgery, including acid reflux and hiatal hernia repairs, using a variety of minimally invasive techniques. He has been recognized as a Robotic Surgeon of Excellence, reflecting his leadership and commitment to advancing robotic surgery.
